Welcome to RELIEF (the “Site,” which includes all pages within the http:// www.relief.news/ host directory), a website hosted by the International Association for the Study of Pain (“IASP”). By accessing content posted on the Site, you agree to be bound by all of the terms of this User Agreement. IASP reserves the right to change the terms of the User Agreement or to modify its features at any time. The Site will post changes to the terms of this User Agreement at www.relief.news/privacy-legal, and by accessing the Site after modifications to this User Agreement have been posted, you agree to be bound by all the modified terms.
Use of Site Content
“Site Content,” which shall include all content posted to the Site by RELIEF authors and freelancers as well as User-Generated Content, is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License.
We welcome requests for additional permissions to reuse site content for other appropriate purposes. Prohibited Uses of the Site

You hereby indemnify, defend and hold harmless IASP and all its affiliates, employees, and members of its governing boards and agents (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) from and against any and all liability and costs, including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees, incurred by the Indemnified Parties in connection with any claim arising out of any breach by you or any user of your account of this User Agreement or the foregoing representations, warranties and covenants. You shall cooperate as fully as reasonably required in the defense of any such claim. IASP reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you.

Effective Date of Agreement

IASP is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using the Site, you can be assured that IASP will use the information in accordance with this privacy statement.
By visiting or accessing the Site, you agree to the provisions of this Policy and the provisions of the RELIEF Web Site Terms.
IASP may modify this Policy from time to time, effective immediately upon posting to the Site or such other period as required by applicable law. Your continued access or use of the Site constitutes your acceptance of the provisions of the then-current Policy. Data Privacy: Information You Provide IASP
IASP receives and stores any information you enter on the Site including, but not limited to:
- Name and job title
- Contact address including phone and email address
- Demographic information such as gender, specialty, occupation type, and interests
- Other information relevant to membership, events, and communication preferences
Data Retention Policy
IASP will follow the following data retention policy to ensure your information is securely maintained:
- All membership electronic documents will be deleted from all individual computers, databases, networks, and back-up storage after one year.
- Special note: As long as you keep your information updated in your online account with us, we will retain that updated information in our database in accordance with the data retention policy.
You may request that IASP delete or modify your personally identifiable information, such as your name or e-mail address.
Automated Collection (Cookies) Policy
IASP collects cookies on our Web site to capture information about page visits. This information is anonymous and IASP uses this information only internally – to deliver the most effective content to our visitors.
Information from the cookies is used to gauge page popularity, analyze traffic patterns on our site, and guide development of other improvements to our site. IASP does not require that you accept cookies. However, some functionality on our Web site, our product or service check-out process, and products and services may be disabled if you decline to accept cookies. How Does IASP Use Information?
IASP uses the information you provide and IASP collects to:
- Administer, maintain and improve the Site and its operation;

To Whom Does IASP Disclose Information?

Subpoenas. IASP may respond to any subpoena received from a government agency (i.e., the Securities and Exchange Commission or law enforcement agencies) without prior notice to you. Unless prohibited by law or by a court order, IASP will notify you of any subpoena received from any other party (e.g., for civil litigation) that requires IASP to disclose your identity and will wait ten (10) days, or a lesser amount of time as required by the deadline in the subpoena, before providing the information requested by the subpoena.
Site of Processing of Personal Data
Personal data of individuals collected by IASP may be stored and processed in the United States, Europe, or any other country in which IASP, its vendors, or partners maintain facilities. IASP may transfer personal data for processing across borders and from your country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdictions around the world.
The Site has reasonable security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information under IASP’s control. Conditions of Use
